Seems that this app is financed by "recommended" venues. For instance, none of the "finest restaurants" were nothing but regular tourist traps. So sad. But overall, the app was useful as a tourist guide for landmarks. These descriptions are tip top. Id appreciate maps working offline as well. Didnt try the AR functionality tough.

Just visited Rome and downloaded this right before. It was simple but got the job done just fine. Was nice to impress my friends with the facts about the monuments and whatnot. Oh and the map was nice, only suggestion would be to put numbered markers for the monuments and buildings. Overall it was free and useful

The GuidePal Rome City Guide App was unbelieveably awesome. The app is simple, convenient, helpful, & surprisingly knowledgeable for a free application. We used it as our personal guide to get to & learn about many of the wonderful sites in Rome. It was so great that we immediately downloaded the Venice & Paris free Apps for the rest of our trip. Thanks GuidePal!

Of all the free travel apps available for the iPhone, Guidepal apps, though not perfect, are my favorite. I like most of the Guidepal apps. And I travel A LOT! While there tends to be pretty good information and ideas, they need to do more to regularly update the apps. Most of the time the prices and/or open hours listed are wrong. This is important information for people who are trying to use the app but do not have wifi at the destination to check current rates and times. Guidepal needs to be very diligent about updating the app with current information.

Loved the offline maps. Used it while travelling, and gps works with it, so we could see where we were and nearby attractions, even without a data plan. For enhancements, probably update with more sights and interesting places, add eateries and reviews. This is a nice supplement to a trip. And keep it free!

Best way to navigate Rome without mobile service charges.

Used it all the time during my trip, it worked great as a offline map + GPS.

No internet is needed which is a good thing when you are not local. This app was my own personal Tour Guide, I felt like one of the locals when touring the city. Good job and thank you.

The offline maps are great!! I was able to keep my phone on airplane mode and still find my way around Rome :)

Accurate descriptions and pretty useful maps. Not as thorough as I would have liked, but thats the only knock. Get this and a few other apps and youre ready for Rome.

Pathetic content & very poor detail on offline maps. Pass
